About The Position

Hartmann Canada Inc, a division of Hartmann North America and the world leader in moulded fibre egg cartons, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its Brantford, Ontario location. The demand for moulded fibre and environmentally sustainable products is rapidly increasing, and Hartmann has invested in this area to meet growing demand. This role is for the Night Shift (8-hour shifts, 11 PM - 7 AM). The Maintenance Supervisor oversees shift maintenance operations, with direct responsibility for hourly employees. Successful candidates must have experience managing a team in a complex 24/7 facility and a proven track record of effective team building, KPI management, and continuous improvement. This is a crucial role within the Maintenance department, working closely with the Maintenance Manager and Operations team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in Maintenance within a manufacturing facility
  • Previous experience with Supervision of skilled trades
  • Licensed as a Millwright and/or Electrician
  • Degree in Industrial Relations or other relevant education and/or maintenance work experience

  • Knowledge of ERP, CMMS and MRP systems
  • Concrete experience in project management (asset)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control maintenance operations for maximum effective utilization of workers, equipment, facility, and materials consistent with established cost and quality standards and in compliance with Company and Legislative policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and make contacts with vendors for necessary repair items.
  • Direct hourly workers to ensure compliance with company objectives.
  • Monitor production process and initiate or implement corrective measures.
  • Participate in program development, safety, maintaining building and grounds, and equipment installation.
  • Communicate effectively to deal with a variety of issues in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Administer Collective Agreement (If applicable) along with company policies/procedures while resolving employee issues including progressive discipline.
