About The Position

To plan, organize, and supervise the daily maintenance, repair, and operational functions of Grand Rapids Housing Commission (GRHC) properties to ensure safe, habitable, code-compliant, and well-maintained residential and administrative properties. This position supervises the maintenance of structural features, fixtures, furnishings, building operating systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, electronic, and mechanical), and other facility-related services. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including REAC and MSHDA inspection standards, while promoting high-quality service, operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and resident satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent or certificate in construction management, engineering technology, or related field; or journey card or completion of a recognized apprenticeship or training program in an electrical, electronic, mechanical, or piping trade; and four (4) years progressively responsible maintenance experience; or high school diploma or GED and at least six (6) years progressively responsible experience in building or residential property maintenance.
• Must be available for second or third shifts.
• Willing to carry a cell phone to respond to emergency situations during assigned and off-duty hours.
