About The Position

Supervision of direct report’s activities including work rules, attendance, discipline, project workload and training, including any maintenance apprenticeship program; manage the maintenance department spending budget to be at or below planned levels. Routine Maintenance: supervise periodic and routine machine and facility maintenance to ensure its completion in an accurate, safe and timely manner. Provide technical support to technicians and manufacturing with breakdowns and projects being implemented. Preventative Maintenance: Schedule and prioritize equipment and facility PM according to production needs and equipment manufacturer’s recommendations; ensure necessary components and parts are purchased as required or directed; manage the preventative and predictive maintenance systems. Establish and promote a participative team environment. Seek ways to expand communications and employee involvement. Ensure entire department complies with all safety standards and regulations; participate in accident investigations for equipment related accidents and injuries. Organize/Maintain all equipment literature, records, software and associated data. Develop, implement and maintain a system to track and trend unscheduled downtime due to equipment failures. Implement plans to reduce the amount of unscheduled maintenance downtime. Lead continuous improvement efforts to meet or exceed the established key metrics in the areas of quality, productivity, delivery, safety, cost savings and 5S programs. Develop, implement and maintain a system for critical and consumable spare parts to reduce downtime on equipment. Supervise all outside contractors including: cleaning services, landscaping services, plumbing, HVAC and any other outside contractors required. Manage the installation and development of maintenance requirements for all new equipment.

Requirements

  • BS degree with technical training in plant engineering preferred.
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in a supervisory maintenance position directing a multi-functional maintenance staff in a preferred automotive tier I environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitudes, and a working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Strong leadership skills, able to recruit & develop people and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly.
  • Familiar with local building codes and OSHA regulations.
  • Requires strong supervisory skills, coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations.
  • Must be a high energy, self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of the plant.
