About The Position

You will work closely with the Plant Manager to provide services to the maintenance group and assist them in meeting the operating plan goals and objectives, as well as providing information and training in compliance with all EHS rules and regulations. In this role, you will perform various problem-solving analyses in the areas of cost, safety, manpower utilization and maintenance problems as required. By providing equipment reliability to produce acceptable quantity and quality of product you will be responsible for eliminating downtime where possible while maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of maintenance background, experience and functional knowledge of area supervised.
  • Previous experience directing skilled maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees day to day operations of the maintenance department. Assures work is done correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Meet budget requirements by developing and implementing cost reduction projects for operational improvements and efficiency cost control.
  • Develop maintenance procedures.
  • Utilize CMMS system to create work orders, schedule, and plan work.
  • Take part in Lean Six Sigma training and Supervisor skills coaching.
  • Plan and lead kaizen events, 5s and TPM
  • Supervises and establishes priorities and schedule personnel for maintenance of all plant equipment, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic.
  • Responds to breakdowns by determining problems and effects immediate repair.
  • Supports a corporate culture that focuses on facts, data and tangible results.
  • Establishes and monitors plant-wide preventive maintenance program.
  • Maintains plant maintenance staff by recruiting, selects, orients, and trains employees; maintains a safe and secure work environment; develops personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job goals and expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Support counterparts at other facilities in troubleshooting and problem-solving. Participate in divisional and corporate safety and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate project work with property management, contractors and internal resources.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
