About The Position

Mead Johnson Nutrition, a Reckitt company and global leader in infant and pediatric nutrition, is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on First Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team at our Wanamingo manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for providing front-line leadership to a team of maintenance technicians while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and utility systems. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, effective communication, and a passion for developing people while driving continuous improvement across the maintenance organization. This is a highly visible leadership position that plays a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, improving preventive maintenance execution, and supporting world-class manufacturing performance.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Experience using CMMS systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Experience in infant nutrition, food, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing.
  • Experience leading reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA, OSHA, and food safety requirements.
  • Experience with reliability-centered maintenance principles.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily maintenance activities to support production goals.
  • Monitor equipment performance and respond quickly to equipment failures.
  • Prioritizing maintenance work based on business impact, safety, and equipment criticality.
  • Manage maintenance work orders within the site’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP CMMS).
  • Ensure work orders are accurately created, assigned, executed, documented, and closed.
  • Review maintenance backlog daily and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Verify accurate documentation of labor hours, repair findings, and parts usage.
  • Drive execution and quality of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure PM compliance meets or exceeds established performance targets.
  • Review daily PM schedules and verify completion.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Support predictive maintenance initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide operational oversight for critical utility systems including: HVAC Systems, Water Systems, Utility Infrastructure, Process Support Systems.
  • Monitoring system performance

  • Enforcing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

  • Building a strong safety culture throughout the maintenance organization
  • Participate in root cause investigations.
  • Support Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) implementation.
  • Ensure corrective actions are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Drive sustainable reliability improvements through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate on: Planned shutdowns, Major repairs, Equipment rebuilds, Capital projects, Preventive maintenance planning, Resource allocation
  • Work collaboratively with the Parts Coordinator to: Ensure critical spare parts availability, Verify materials before scheduled maintenance, Review inventory levels, Identify long lead-time items, Reduce emergency purchases through proactive planning
  • Develop a highly skilled maintenance workforce by: Coaching and mentoring technicians, Identifying training opportunities, Supporting cross-training initiatives, Verifying technical competencies, Improving troubleshooting capabilities, Building future maintenance leaders
  • Provide professional end-of-shift communication including: Equipment downtime summary, Major repairs completed, PM completion status, Open maintenance issues, Utility system updates, Safety observations, Project status, Staffing concerns, Priority items for the next shift
