About The Position

The Maintenance team at ZF Marysville plays a critical role in supporting production by maintaining a wide range of equipment and systems—including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, robotic, and automation technologies. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a dedicated team of up to 14 direct reports during the third shift (10:30pm–6:30am), ensuring smooth operations and timely repairs. This role involves coordinating both internal staff and external contractors, with occasional overtime required to meet production demands and maintain equipment reliability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of related maintenance or technical experience.
  • Knowledge of installing, inspecting, and repairing machining, grinding, heat treating, and assembly automation equipment, including Fanuc robotic systems.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, plumbing, conveyor, and other pressure/force based systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC machinery and robotic equipment while performing effectively under real time production demands.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex written and verbal instructions, with thorough knowledge of occupational hazards, safety protocols, and MIOSHA requirements.
  • Capability to manage inventories and supplies cost effectively while handling multiple priorities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assign work to union maintenance employees and contractors while balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in full compliance with all safety rules, regulations, TS16949 standards, and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Inspect daily maintenance work for quality and completeness and determine required materials, equipment, supplies, and time for tasks.
  • Maintain and update maintenance employee work hours and related records within the computer system.
  • Coordinate and assist with ordering spare parts and participate in equipment buyoffs, including reviewing electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and related system work during installations.
  • Monitor, assign, and oversee preventative maintenance activities.
  • Handle maintenance area grievances, employee issues, training, safety, and discipline, including resolving issues through effective problem solving and conducting accident investigations.
  • Meet or exceed departmental KPIs and complete special projects or related tasks as assigned.
