About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor assists the Facilities and Operations Manager with oversight of maintenance activities and staff. Assists with scheduling staff, planning daily work activities, and monitoring the work being done. This is a physical working supervisor position with duties that include a variety of routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and emergency calls for service. A significant portion of time will be spent moving throughout the resort. The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Ojo Caliente Holdings, Inc. Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of resort or hotel maintenance experience a plus, including supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Sense of urgency, with appropriate.
  • Ability to direct the work of others
  • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Technical leadership and understanding.
  • Working knowledge including but not limited to general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical with specialized knowledge in several areas.
  • Strong knowledge and attention to detail on maintenance operations
  • General knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in building maintenance work.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment, measure distance and calculate quantities, and read blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, receive and give instructions, and prepare work orders and reports, including via the use of a computer or other device.
  • Ability to work respectfully and productively with all staff, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism and camaraderie.

  • Ability to stand for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

  • Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) Certificate a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance workflow under the guidance of the Facilities and Operations Manager.
  • Supports the Manager in evaluating staff performance issues and taking disciplinary action when needed.
  • Communicates staff and equipment needs to Manager.
  • Assists with creating staff schedules and addresses time clock and related issues and questions.
  • Attends daily briefing(s), takes daily assigned tasks, and monitors progress of the crew, reporting to Manager daily or as needed.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Oversee the performance a variety of routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and emergency calls for service, including but not limited to the following: Faucets, ice makers, toilets and dishwashers; Electrical light fixtures, switches, and receptacles, exhaust fans, ceiling fans, water heaters and other appliances; Windows and doors including screen door track mechanisms, check and repair locks, repair hinges, patch drywall and mount towel holders; HVAC systems and equipment, lighting and sound controls; Swimming pool and spa.
  • Ensure that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition in accordance with health, safety, and fire regulations as directed by management.
  • Respond to unusual conditions and situations which may endanger mechanical functions or operations of the resort; report to Manager of Facilities as needed.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
  • Perform all duties of a Maintenance Technician when needed.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications, attending classes and obtaining the necessary certifications within a specified time frame.
