About The Position
A large apartment community of 408 units located in the Churchland area of Portsmouth is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for the overall physical operation and proper appearance of the community. Primary responsibilities include building maintenance and general repair work including plumbing, drywall, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and appliance repairs. Responsible for all after hour emergencies while on on-call rotation.
Requirements
- CFC or HVAC certification required.
- 2 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Knowledge of tools, materials, methods and practices used in general maintenance.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Ability to operate power and manual tools safely and efficiently.
- Work extended hours out of doors in varying weather conditions as necessary.
- Perform heavy manual labor. Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to supervise, instruct and train staff effectively.
