About The Position

Relocation will not be offered for this position. Purpose This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the hourly maintenance team in the steelmaking area. This includes scheduling, resource planning, coaching, and work quality follow up. This is a day shift position but is required to work overtime, holidays, and weekends per business needs.

  • Associate's degree in electronic/electrical or mechanical technology with 4 years of experience in an electrical/mechanical apprenticeship, industrial maintenance, or supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in electronic/electrical or mechanical technology with 2 years of experience in an electrical/mechanical apprenticeship, industrial maintenance, or supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Safety - Performs regular workplace audits. Focuses on leading indicators to promote best in class workplace safety such as near miss reporting, risk assessments, and good housekeeping. Effectively communicates lessons learned to the maintenance team.
  • Execution – As a leader of the execution team you will increase the efficiency of the maintenance crews by providing direct supervision and support in the areas of safety, job priorities, assignments, staffing, area cross training, delay reduction, breakdown support, and reliability metrics. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively. You will increase standardized utilization of Maximo asset management system with the maintenance team. Must be a champion of work identification, CMMS data collection and analysis, and parts management.
  • Empower and Attract Top Talent – Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, facilitation, change management skills, decision making, empowerment, and delegation). Develop and accurately/objectively evaluate apprentices. Continually develop maintenance team with training opportunities. Continually focus on developing better work procedures and job plans to promote standardized results.
