About The Position

Lake Port Square is an upscale Senior Living community seeking a hospitality-minded Maintenance Supervisor to join their Plant Operations Team in their Health Center. This role involves assisting in the repair and maintenance of all residential and community equipment, interior and exterior of community property. The position also assists the Plant Operations Director in training, supervising, and evaluating maintenance staff, managing inventory control, working within the annual budget, and maintaining logbooks for life safety and AHCA. The role requires a professional approach with high-quality work practices, safety, neatness, and thoroughness.

Requirements

  • SNF/LTC experience required
  • Ability to understand and perform basic arithmetic measurements.
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Must have the ability to read, write and speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years vocational or technical, or on-the-job building maintenance experience preferred.
  • HVAC preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in supervisory position preferred
  • Computer knowledge
  • Background in building and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Performing general maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical work, HVAC work, painting, plumbing, pool repairs, and appliance repairs.
  • Reporting for duty during emergencies or natural disasters as assigned.
  • Maintaining acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complying with department dress code.
  • Attending in-service training and education sessions.
  • Operating hand and power tools and ensuring all equipment is in safe operating order.
  • Handling department communication, including incoming phone calls and radio communication.
  • Assisting with the assignment of daily work orders, daily assignments, and preventive maintenance assignments, and checking for timely completion and standards of performance.
  • Keeping up written and computer records to monitor maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules, including inventory.
  • Assisting with maintenance reports, including monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Assisting with employee-related personnel issues, including performance reviews and discipline.
  • Performing periodic inspections of the community, including roofs, air conditioning systems, lighting, parking areas, and all mechanical equipment, and reporting findings.
  • Operating the Computer System pertaining to the Preventive Maintenance Program.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in the operation of the Fire Alarm System within fourteen (14) days of hire.
  • Assisting with the inspection of all vacated apartments and scheduling necessary repairs.
  • Maintaining work areas in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Observing and participating in the use of Universal Precautions.
  • Arranging and coordinating internal Life Safety inspections of the facility.
  • Coordinating annual Life Safety inspections with local authorities and following up on deficiencies or recommendations.
