About The Position

Be the Founding Maintenance Leader at The Laurel at Calera. Calera, Alabama. For over 70 years, Sealy Management Company has been dedicated to providing exceptional apartment homes through quality service, integrity, and pride in our communities. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead all maintenance operations at our newest luxury apartment community, The Laurel at Calera. This position begins prior to the community's Fall/Winter 2026 Grand Opening, giving you the opportunity to help prepare the community for opening day and establish maintenance standards from the very beginning. As the founding Maintenance Supervisor, you will prepare apartment homes and amenities for the first residents, establish preventive maintenance programs and operating procedures, recruit and lead the maintenance team, partner with construction teams during the final stages of development, ensure every apartment home meets Sealy Management's quality standards before move-in, and build a maintenance culture centered on responsiveness, professionalism, and resident satisfaction. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance operations, ensures the community is maintained to the highest standards, and provides leadership for the maintenance team. This role is responsible for preserving the property's appearance, functionality, safety, and long-term value.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of apartment maintenance experience.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, drywall, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all daily maintenance operations.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor maintenance technicians.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs.
  • Complete and oversee service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare apartment homes for new residents.
  • Maintain all building systems, HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and amenities.
  • Coordinate outside vendors and contractors.
  • Monitor inventory and maintenance budgets.
  • Conduct property inspections to ensure excellent curb appeal.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance.
