About The Position

Weinstein Properties is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor in Training for the Charlotte, NC area. This role involves working and training onsite with a supervisor and a full maintenance team. The position requires future flexibility to transfer to another Charlotte community for a supervisor role. The primary responsibilities include managing and coordinating the activities of a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of the property's grounds and buildings, while also actively participating in all maintenance duties. The team diagnoses and repairs issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliance areas. This role also involves scheduling and supervising in-house and vendor work, and sharing on-call duties. It is a hands-on position where the service team's effective performance, through professional maintenance practices, quality control, and adherence to policies, maximizes rents and maintains high occupancy. The customer service-driven nature of the team significantly influences visitors, prospects, and residents. Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years trade-related experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance and carpentry.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Computer skills: use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies and communicate via email.
  • Willing to share on-call with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license, transportation and tools required.
  • Must pass a DMV and background/criminal check.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure all upkeep, inventory and repair of grounds and buildings of the property are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Working as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties.
  • Diagnosing problems and making repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structural and appliances.
  • Scheduling and directly supervising all in-house and/or vendor work.
  • Sharing on-call duties with other team members.
  • Maximizing rents and maintaining high occupancy levels by following professional maintenance practices, using quality control and following policies/procedures.
  • Providing customer service to visitors, prospects, and residents.
