About The Position

Weinstein Properties is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor in Training for the Midlothian, VA (Richmond area). This role involves managing and coordinating a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of property grounds and buildings. The position is hands-on, requiring the individual to work alongside a supervisor and a full maintenance team, diagnosing and repairing issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances. The role also includes scheduling and supervising in-house and vendor work, sharing on-call duties, and maintaining high occupancy levels through professional maintenance practices and excellent customer service. The company owns and manages all its properties, offering stability and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years trade-related experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance, and carpentry.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Computer skills: use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies, and communicate via email.
  • Willing to share on-call with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license, transportation, and tools required.
  • Must pass a DMV and background/criminal check.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of grounds and buildings.
  • Diagnosing problems and making repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances.
  • Scheduling and directly supervising all in-house and/or vendor work.
  • Sharing on-call duties with other team members.
  • Maximizing rents and maintaining high occupancy levels by following professional maintenance practices, using quality control, and following policies/procedures.
  • Providing customer service to visitors, prospects, and residents.
