About The Position

Weinstein Properties is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor in Training for the Charlotte area. This role involves working and training onsite alongside a supervisor with a full maintenance team, with future flexibility to transfer to another Charlotte community for a supervisor role. The position manages and coordinates the activities of a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of property grounds and buildings, while also contributing to all maintenance duties. The team diagnoses and repairs issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances. The role includes scheduling and supervising in-house and vendor work, and sharing on-call duties. This is a hands-on position focused on maximizing rents and maintaining high occupancy through professional maintenance practices, quality control, and adherence to policies and procedures. The service team's customer service focus significantly influences visitors, prospects, and residents. Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years trade related experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance and carpentry.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Computer skills: use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies and communicate via email.
  • Willing to share on-call with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license, transportation and tools required.
  • DMV and background/criminal check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure that all upkeep, inventory and repair of grounds and buildings of the property are completed in an efficient manner.
  • Working as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties.
  • Diagnosing problems and making repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structural and appliances.
  • Scheduling and directly supervising all in-house and/or vendor work.
  • Sharing on-call duties with other team members.
  • Following professional maintenance practices, using quality control and following policies/procedures to maximize rents and maintain high occupancy levels.
  • Providing customer service to visitors, prospects, and residents.
