About The Position

Weinstein Properties is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor in Training for the Charlotte area. This is a hands-on role where you will work and train onsite alongside a supervisor with a full maintenance team. The position involves managing and coordinating the activities of a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of property grounds and buildings. You will also be part of the team completing maintenance duties. The effective performance of the service team is crucial for maximizing rents and maintaining high occupancy levels through professional maintenance practices, quality control, and adherence to policies and procedures. The service team is customer service-driven, creating a lasting influence on visitors, prospects, and residents. Weinstein Properties owns and manages all of its properties, offering stability and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of trade-related experience.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on apartment maintenance lead, assistant, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, interior/exterior maintenance, and carpentry.
  • EPA/CFC Refrigerant certification required (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Hands-on HVAC repair experience required.
  • Computer skills: ability to use business software to assign and manage work orders, schedule turns, order supplies, and communicate via email.
  • Willingness to share on-call duties with other team members.
  • Valid driver's license, transportation, and tools required.
  • Must pass a DMV and background/criminal check.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating activities of a service team to ensure efficient upkeep, inventory, and repair of grounds and buildings.
  • Working as part of the team to complete all maintenance duties.
  • Diagnosing problems and making repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywalling, exterior structural, and appliances.
  • Scheduling and directly supervising all in-house and/or vendor work.
  • Sharing on-call duties with other team members.
  • Following professional maintenance practices, using quality control, and adhering to policies/procedures.
  • Providing customer service to residents.
