About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist with a broad range of mechanical and troubleshooting abilities. This position will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment used in Hallmark’s Leavenworth Production Facility. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience that successfully demonstrates mechanical and electrical ability.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints; be proficient in using gas, wire, spot and arc welding equipment; knowledge with working on boilers, chillers, and air compressors; able to install plumbing and industrial electrical systems with the proper code requirements; knowledgeable of industrial electronics and programmable logic controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to understand and follow established safety procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize jobs by assigned work areas according to key processes.
  • Ability to re-organize when needed and to work under pressure.
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift and carry items weighing up to 50-100 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to constantly stand and walk.
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, and reach at/above shoulder level.
  • Ability to frequently work in awkward positions and occasionally work from ladders.
  • Good math, written, oral communication skills and ability to learn and retain knowledge.
  • Demonstrates initiative and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to repair and maintain machinery, including replacing belts, repairing or installing electrical wiring and hydraulic lines.
  • Proficiency in electronics, reading electronic schematics, and wiring Ladder logic.
  • Ability to weld using arc, heli-arc, and gas welding equipment.
  • Experience with lathe and milling machines for complex jobs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work as a team member.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to continually improve skills.
  • Ability to travel for training locally and/or out of town.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machinery in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and craft codes.
  • Install machinery and equipment. This includes assembling, leveling, and mounting equipment, making necessary electric, compressed air, gas, and water connections.
  • Dismantle and reassemble machinery, making new connections as needed.
  • Modify existing equipment or design and build new machines to improve capacity, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Instruct operators and supervisors in the operation of new or modified equipment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by moving to different work areas as needed.
  • Perform duties in accordance with sound safety practices.
  • Transport and handle hazardous waste material in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations.
