About The Position

Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment. Perform various facilities maintenance activities. This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery. This position has been identified as “safety sensitive” by thyssenkrupp under applicable laws. Accordingly, any application for this position that is considered for employment with thyssenkrupp requires successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, which may include testing for marijuana in accordance with any applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

Demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude
3-5 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
College degree or certificate in a technical area or related field
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs.
Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on all machinery/equipment in the facility.
Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs.
Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services.
Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements.
