About The Position

Establish strong working partnerships, value, and loyalty while executing role responsibilities in accordance with our Guiding Values and Service Promises. Perform actions that are often carried out for preventive basis and easy to identify. Perform basic maintenance repairs on facilities, equipment, company vehicles and grounds, to ensure appearance and performance are consistent with our member experience and meeting expectations. Each location shall be maintained at a high level to provide a service-focused, socially comfortable destination for our members and staff. Must be skilled in trades such as carpentry, heating, ventilation (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, or have a related degree from a technical college.

Requirements

  • 1 year facilities maintenance experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation.
  • Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers and tape measures, knowledge of general carpentry and repair, ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office software knowledge; organization/time management skills; eye for detail/quality.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Some lifting required (up to 100 pounds), continuous standing, occasional sitting and frequent walking.
  • This employee must be able to utilize maintenance equipment, access ladders and complete physical labor.
  • Finger dexterity while using computer.
  • Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone.
  • Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
  • Travel to all credit union regions is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled in trades such as carpentry, heating, ventilation (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, or have a related degree from a technical college.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks, performs inspections and maintenance on facilities, fixtures, furniture, grounds and corporate vehicles.
  • Proactively updates maintenance inspection report for management's review with areas of need.
  • May include extensive travel to all of the credit union regions weekly.
  • Proactively makes repairs and or recommends options to management.
  • Compares and assists in the negotiation of regular maintenance contracts.
  • Provides input for budgeting and cost control to management.
  • Assists in planning, scheduling and coordinating contracted maintenance and unique facility projects.
  • Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned
