About The Position

As a Maintenance Specialist at MKS Broomfield, you will partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and Facilities. Supporting day-to-day maintenance activities across CNC machining, welding systems, finishing equipment, and ultrasonic cleaning lines by executing preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and repair work to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3–5 years in industrial maintenance within a Manufacturing environment.
  • Repair and maintain: Motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and replace defective components.
  • Basic CNC Equipment Knowledge: Understanding of machine components (spindles, axes, ball screws), tooling and machine alignment basics.
  • Ability to support routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshooting Skills (Hands-on): Diagnose issues using visual inspection, basic electrical meters, and process symptoms.
  • Escalate complex failures appropriately.
  • Perform PM tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, inspections, calibration checks and adjustments.
  • Follow standardized PM procedures and documentation.
  • Knowledge of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), electrical safety, and chemical handling (cleaning processes).

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled PMs on CNC machines (lubrication, inspection, alignment checks), welding systems (leads, gas lines, cooling systems), finishing equipment (polishers, pumps, filtration), and ultrasonic cleaning systems (tank cleaning, filter changes, solution monitoring).
  • Complete PM checklists and document in CMMS.
  • Diagnose and repair routine mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Replace common wear components (belts, sensors, valves, filters, bearings).
  • Escalate complex failures to Sr. Maintenance Specialist.
  • Maintain cleanliness of CNC enclosures and chip management systems, welding workstations, and finishing/cleaning equipment (tanks, baskets, filters).
  • Support contamination control for final cleaning processes.
  • Respond quickly to equipment downtime events.
  • Assist in equipment recovery and restart.
  • Provide input on failure symptoms and conditions.
  • Follow all LOTO, electrical safety, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Use proper PPE for welding, machining, and cleaning environments.
  • Maintain safe and organized work areas.
