About The Position

Florida SouthWestern State College is seeking a Maintenance Specialist I to perform highly skilled and specialized work in the maintenance and operation of building automation systems, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment at an assigned FSW campus. This role involves diagnosing and repairing commercial and/or industrial building systems, including air conditioning, heating, ventilating, mechanical, medium to high-voltage electrical, and direct digital control energy management systems. The position also includes performing preventative maintenance activities and reading blueprints.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of full-time experience at a Journeyman level in the performance of maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of commercial and/or industrial building systems.
• Experience with Air conditioning, heating, and ventilating systems.
• Experience with Mechanical systems and equipment.
• Experience with Medium to high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Experience with Direct digital control energy management systems.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance activities.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• Skills in using tools commonly used in air conditioning, mechanical and electrical fields.
• Proven ability to work independently.
• Proven ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• Proven ability to clearly communicate.
