About The Position

This recruitment is for an exempt position and is open to Alaska Residents only. The role involves working in remote locations across Alaska, traveling by helicopter, ATV, and snowmachine to various work sites. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing public safety radio communications equipment. This entails climbing towers, servicing generators, programming radios, and performing some landscaping tasks. Technicians are part of a close-knit team that collaborates to maintain a reliable network for Public Safety, DOT, and other state agencies.

Requirements

  • Must meet Alaska Residency Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to fly in small aircraft, including helicopters
  • Must pass the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), which includes a background investigation requiring fingerprinting
  • Must read, understand, and agree to a confidentiality agreement
  • Must provide copies of transcripts to verify educational credentials
  • All work experience must be documented in the application package, including employer name, job title, dates of employment, and employment type (full/part-time)
