About The Position

The Maintenance Specialist/Groundskeeper performs facility maintenance and groundskeeping duties, including repairs, construction support, landscaping, irrigation maintenance, and general upkeep of venue facilities and grounds. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position in the Operations department, based on site at Buddy Holly Hall in Lubbock, Texas. The role reports to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

Ability to operate lawn mowers, trimming devices, hand tools, and power tools.
Knowledge of irrigation and sprinkler systems.
Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of maintenance, construction, grounds care, or related experience.
Applicator's license.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain seats, including removing and installing cup holders.
Maintain suites, including drywall, hardware, painting, ceiling tile, and fixtures.
Complete carpentry projects, new construction work, and repairs.
Patch, caulk, and coat concrete.
Paint and prepare surfaces.
Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and grounds features.
Operate hand tools and landscaping equipment.
Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, ground cover, and flowers.
Install and maintain signs, barricades, fences, and irrigation systems.
Mow, edge, and trim turf areas; collect debris and clear trash.
Identify and communicate safety issues on grounds and walkways.
Perform other duties as assigned.
