About The Position

Genex Systems is seeking a Maintenance Shutdown Coordinator to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth planning and execution of facility maintenance shutdowns, which are essential for preventive maintenance, major repairs, upgrades, and inspections that cannot be performed during operational periods. The position requires a high level of quality, professionalism, and adherence to safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required.
  • Six (6) years of related experience in the maintenance field.
  • Additional relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for a portion of the experience.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and follow instructions.
  • Exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Valid Real ID compliant identification.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain a NASA background check.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others.
  • The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.
  • Must be able to balance scope, schedule, and budget to ensure program success.

  • Knowledge of IBM Maximo is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end planning and scheduling of facility maintenance shutdown periods.
  • Applying project management methodologies to coordinate maintenance period activities and monitor progress.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between maintenance, operations, and engineering.
  • Facilitating pre-shutdown and post-shutdown meetings to document lessons learned and review the accuracy of work order close-outs in the CMMS.
  • Tracking, reporting, and presenting the progress of each maintenance shutdown period.
  • Compiling metrics for weekly schedule meetings.
  • Supporting the Work Control Center as needed.
