About The Position

The Maintenance Shutdown Scheduler leads the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities during scheduled plant shutdowns. This role partners closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, EH&S, and external contractors to ensure shutdown work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   Develop comprehensive shutdown plans, including scope definition, timelines, resource requirements, and task prioritization. Build and maintain detailed shutdown schedules to minimize operational impact and optimize efficiency. Coordinate cross-functional teams and contractors to ensure all shutdown activities are aligned and execution-ready. Allocate manpower, equipment, and materials; secure contractor services and ensure timely delivery of required resources. Create and manage purchase orders, track invoices, and monitor shutdown budgets to ensure cost control. Serve as the primary point of contact for shutdown communications, leading planning meetings and progress reviews. Ensure all activities comply with company safety standards and regulatory requirements; conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans. Oversee shutdown execution, monitor schedule adherence, resolve issues in real time, and lead post-shutdown reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Technical degree or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–10 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience (mechanical and/or I&E), including at least 2 years in shutdown coordination, planning, or project management.
  • Proficiency with planning and scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, SAP, Prometheus).
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, plant equipment, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, purchase orders, and contractor coordination.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
