About The Position

The Maintenance Welder performs repairs and maintenance on vehicle floors, bodies, packing blades and rails, as well as fabrication work. The role uses welding, cutting, bending and fabrication equipment to repair and build steel and aluminum components. The welder follows safety policies and procedures, completes required paperwork and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

At least 1 year of welding experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Attention to detail.
Effective communication with supervisors and coworkers, including timely and accurate written reports.
Customer-service orientation and professional, courteous, cooperative conduct.
Dependability, including punctuality and adherence to the established work schedule.
Ethical conduct and adherence to company policies and rules.
Safety orientation, including recognizing hazards and following and promoting safety rules and procedures.
Troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing equipment problems, identifying root causes and selecting repair options.

Responsibilities

Cut and weld repairs to vehicle floors, bodies, packing blades and rails, and perform fabrication.
Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and arc welding equipment.
Bend steel components using a brake and shear.
Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
Fabricate steel components on trucks.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Complete required paperwork.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
