About The Position

As Ruggable's Maintenance & Safety Manager, you will oversee facility maintenance operations and environmental health and safety programs at our Vaughn location. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, maintaining a safe working environment, and leading maintenance strategies that support operational efficiency. You will work cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams to improve maintenance programs, strengthen safety practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years experience in Maintenance and/or Environmental Health and Safety
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic knowledge of WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board)
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and facility infrastructure
  • Knowledge of CCOHS regulations, hazard recognition, record keeping and incident management skills
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Experience applying Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma principles to drive improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience managing plant maintenance team(s)
  • Experience implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • NEBOSH Certification (or equivalent)
  • JHSC Certified
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for the maintenance function in Toronto. Own maintenance strategies, plans, and budgets. Develop and lead the maintenance team through hiring, training, and skills development aligned with network standards. Evaluate maintenance technicians to identify performance improvement opportunities and develop targeted development plans
  • Provide overall site EHS leadership, including strategy development, policies, procedures, risk assessments, root cause analysis, and incident reporting. Maintain training programs and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local safety regulations including CCOHS and WSIB requirements
  • Lead the maturation and refinement of preventive maintenance programs and the effective use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Maintain adequate inventory of operations equipment and order items as necessary, managing overall budget
  • Use maintenance data, CMMS reporting, and operational KPIs to identify trends and implement improvement initiatives that increase equipment uptime and reliability
