About The Position

The Maintenance Repairman B is a safety-sensitive role responsible for supporting safe and efficient operations through inspections, installations, repairs, and servicing of stationary and mobile equipment. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and collaborating with plant operators and production leadership. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical concepts and the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Welding (mandatory for all maintenance positions)

  • Basic understanding of burners, burner systems, and burner control fundamentals
  • Basic instrumentation and controls fundamentals
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
  • Clear communication skills and ability to understand instructions
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, exploded views, parts lists, and equipment manuals
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with coworkers
  • Strong understanding of basic mechanical concepts
  • Ability to apply common‑sense reasoning to safely follow detailed written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Clear and concise communication on technical topics
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with management and coworkers

  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, and bending
  • Use of hands for grasping, holding, turning, and manipulating tools and equipment
  • Motor coordination, finger dexterity, eye‑hand‑foot coordination, and color discrimination
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment a plus, not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with plant operators and production leadership to support safe, efficient operations
  • Perform safety and operational inspections on mobile equipment, process equipment, material‑handling systems, emissions control equipment, and the general work environment
  • Inspect, install, repair, and service stationary and mobile equipment
  • Conduct maintenance and repair on mechanical systems including: Cables, pumps, screw conveyors, belt conveyors, bucket elevators, Rotary valves, power transmission components, drag conveyors, Pneumatic conveyor systems, fans, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and diagnose root causes
  • Adjust, clean, and lubricate mechanical components as needed
  • Communicate replacement‑part needs to supervisor
  • Provide input and suggestions for problem‑solving and continuous improvement
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
