Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
  • Experience with roofing and siding.
  • Landscaping experience.
  • Experience following general safety guidelines.
  • Experience performing carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
  • Experience with general maintenance and tools.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience painting, performing drywall and plaster tasks
  • Previous experience installing, repairing, or removing flooring
  • Previous cost estimation experience
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, or diagrams
  • Previous welding experience

Responsibilities

  • Repair bridges, culverts, and other structures using carpentry, masonry, welding, and concrete work
  • Operate construction and maintenance equipment including welders, saws, compressors, and power tools
  • Install or replace fixtures, outlets, wiring, and lighting components as needed
  • Maintain and repair faucets, drains, pipes, toilets, and drinking fountains
  • Check and adjust HVAC systems and perform basic maintenance to keep facilities functional
  • Provide guidance to semi skilled workers and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently
