About The Position

The Maintenance Repairman 1 position with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation supports construction and repair work that helps maintain safe and reliable infrastructure. The role assists with skilled trade tasks, prepares materials, and uses tools safely while contributing to hands-on building and repair activities.

This is a seasonal, full-time position. The stated schedule is 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Hours may change based on weather or seasonal conditions. Telework is not available.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in general maintenance work involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades, or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
• Ability to perform the essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, measuring, cutting, placing, and finishing materials for repair and building tasks.
• Order, prepare, and pour concrete for structures such as ramps, stairs, shelves, and inlets.
• Use motorized and manual tools safely and report damaged or missing equipment.
• Follow safety procedures, wear protective gear, and remain alert to prevent accidents.
• Conduct visual checks, make adjustments when needed, and document findings to support safe operations.
