Highway Maintenance Worker - PennDOT Winter Maintenance
About The Position
The Highway Maintenance Worker supports roadway maintenance by performing manual labor, assisting sign crews, and completing tasks that contribute to safe highway travel. The work involves hands-on labor, careful tool use, and support for construction and sign maintenance activities. Duties include physical work on highway maintenance and construction projects; helping erect and maintain traffic signs and roadway delineators; safely operating and handling motorized and non-motorized tools; lifting and moving objects; and assisting crews at highway work locations. This is seasonal full-time employment from October 2026 to March 2027. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Scheduled days and hours may vary due to seasonal requirements and operational needs. Travel may be required. Telework is not available.
