About The Position

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a Maintenance Repairman 1 who enjoys hands-on work and being outdoors. This role offers a chance to learn many different skills while helping keep Codorus State Park in great condition. Every day brings new tasks that make the park safer and more welcoming for visitors. Requirements

Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Must be available weekends and holidays.
This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
You must meet the PA residency requirement.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.

Responsibilities

Make apprentice level repairs to park buildings using carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and related tools
Operate and maintain vehicles, mowers, and other equipment used throughout the park
Mow grass, trim vegetation, plant trees and shrubs, and prepare new turf areas
Clean picnic areas, maintain restrooms and buildings, and repair tables, grills, and signs
Load, move, and transport materials using dump trucks or pickup trucks
Dig ditches, clean culverts, cut firewood, clear brush, and assist with general outdoor tasks
