The State of Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 (MRW3) to provide skilled maintenance repair of the facility and act as a lead worker, providing work direction and training over youth workers in the performance of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair. This role involves performing carpentry and masonry repairs, plumbing equipment maintenance, operating machine tools and welding equipment, and conducting continuous inspections of buildings and equipment for needed repairs or replacements, as well as performing systematic and routine preventive maintenance of the assigned area. The position operates during general daytime hours, with weekend hours also required. The State of Ohio is a drug-free workplace and prohibits the use of marijuana. This position may be subject to additional restrictions as outlined in the posting and the State of Ohio Drug-Free Workplace Policy (HR-39). A criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening will be conducted on the final candidate. The final candidate will also be required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory, paid Pre-Service Training at the DYS Training Academy in Orient, Ohio, with DYS providing transportation, lodging, and meals. Pre-Service Training is Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. DYS is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
