About The Position

The Maintenance Worker 3 position performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision. This role assists in the installation of new equipment and supports the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects. The position follows a preventative maintenance schedule, trains Level 1 and 2 Maintenance personnel, and troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment. Responsibilities include changing electrical breakers and electrical starters, operating voltage, amp, and ohm meters, and maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area. The role requires the use of assigned safety equipment and familiarity with all Company safety rules and regulations. Attendance at safety meetings is expected, and participation on the Safety Committee may be requested. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 years experience with rendering or other similar equipment.
  • Advanced welding, piping and fabrication skills a must.
  • Must pass skills test on 480V combination starter/breaker box and control voltage for combination box.
  • Demonstrated advance welding skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational school training preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
  • General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnosis problems with motors and other equipment.
  • Good math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

  • Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
