This position is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure the reliability and maintainability of equipment and processes. The role involves identifying and managing asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. The engineer will work with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations, adhering to the life cycle asset management (LCAM) process. Responsibilities include participating in the development of design and installation specifications, commissioning plans, and criteria for evaluating suppliers and service providers. The role also involves final checks of new installations, including factory and site acceptance testing, and developing and refining asset maintenance plans. This includes preventive maintenance, predictive testing, and risk management. The engineer will develop solutions to repetitive failures and other issues impacting operations, utilizing data analysis techniques such as Statistical Process Control, Fault Tree Analysis, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS). Additionally, the role involves working with Production to analyze asset utilization, equipment effectiveness, and remaining useful life, and providing technical support to maintenance and technical personnel. Value analysis for repair/replace, repair/design, and make/buy decisions will be performed, and close collaboration with hourly Maintenance staff is expected for information gathering and guidance.
