Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, business or trade school degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License
  • Registered and Insured Vehicle
  • State Central Registry Clearance
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal/social communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in property maintenance and repair preferred
  • Candidates with lived experience are preferred and encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair
  • Coordinate client relocation
  • Ensure work orders are completed efficiently, correctly and within the specified time frame
  • Provide on-site supervision to all maintenance staff while in the field
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems/units
  • Remodel and maintain properties as required including sheet rocking, painting, and masonry
  • Work with program staff to help relocate clients from one unit to another including the physical movement of client belongings, and logistical coordination
  • Provide on-site supervision of maintenance staff to ensure that work orders are completed correctly and on-time
  • Provide daily updates to Operation Manager on the completion of assigned work orders and update the work order system as appropriate
  • Perform regular inspections using HUD HQS form
  • Coordinate and work with contracted services for the maintenance and upkeep of apartments
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment, reporting unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the units to the Operations Coordinator
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making around general operations of apartments
  • Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned
