About The Position

The Maintenance & Production Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs automated manufacturing equipment, conveyor systems, and industrial electrical components to support safe, reliable production operations. The role combines electrical and mechanical expertise to minimize equipment downtime, perform preventive maintenance, and improve the reliability of automation and material handling systems. When preventive maintenance and repair work is caught up, the technician also supports testing, building, or repair stations. This may include running functional tests, building units to work instructions, and reworking failed units. The position supports safe, consistent production by reducing unplanned downtime, maintaining critical conveyor and automation equipment, and improving equipment reliability.

  • 2–3 years of industrial maintenance experience with automated conveyor or manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills involving motor controls, VFDs, relays, and three-phase systems.
  • Ability to use multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of conveyor alignment, belt tensioning and tracking, mechanical drives, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Working familiarity with PLC diagnostics and basic ladder logic.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize downtime response, and follow safe maintenance practices.
  • Willingness to shift between maintenance and production tasks as priorities change during a shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Electrical Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on belt and roller conveyors, fixtures, presses, torque and pneumatic tools, test stations, and control panels.
  • Diagnose and repair industrial electrical faults involving three-phase systems up to 480V, motor controls, VFDs, relays, and control circuits.
  • Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace drive motors, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, belts, and pneumatic components.
  • Troubleshoot photoelectric sensors, proximity switches, encoders, barcode scanners, and other automation devices.
  • Use PLC diagnostics to verify inputs and outputs, interpret basic ladder logic, and isolate equipment faults.
  • Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings to complete accurate repairs.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance; identify recurring failures and recommend improvements.
  • Support testing, building, and repair stations when maintenance and repair work is caught up, including running functional tests, building units to work instructions, and reworking failed units.
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment repairs, parts usage, and outstanding issues.
  • Coordinate with production teams to prioritize repairs and restore equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, arc-flash precautions, and required PPE procedures.
