About The Position

The core responsibility of the Maintenance Production Support role is to support production operations. This role is responsible for preparing machines to run production, assisting Production Supervisors by setting up work cells to run production, maintaining machines during production runs, and repairing equipment in a timely manner. This position supports production operations across 3 shifts in our 24/5 manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • A Great Attitude
  • Grade 12 or equivalent or higher.
  • Minimum of one-year related work experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Apprentice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure production equipment is ready and available for production requirements.
  • Complete breakdown repairs quickly and efficiently in the production environment.
  • Prioritize repair jobs based on production schedule.
  • Swap out equipment if breakdown repairs cannot be completed easily and in a timely manner for the production environment.
  • Install machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts.
  • Complete breakdown repairs in the shop when not required on the production floor.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks on equipment not currently required for production.
  • Assist in spare parts inventory management by documenting materials used and highlighting items that fall below minimum inventory levels.
  • Perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings/blueprints.
  • Identify any technical issues with the supplied materials, components, and equipment.
  • Perform plant-related maintenance and maintenance on plant equipment as required.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Record maintenance activities in maintenance activity log.
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Perform PM checks and maintain PM records.
  • Ensure that all the safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Communicate and report any safety concerns and unsafe practices to management.
  • Address all reported hazards as per the company’s Hazard Policy.
  • Accountable for housekeeping and ensuring there are no unsafe conditions.
  • Be aware of HACCP principles and follow all company GMP’s.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area.
