About The Position

Jared Jewelers is seeking a Maintenance / Porter to help create an environment of total customer satisfaction by making customers’ needs the first priority. The role is responsible for general maintenance inside and outside the store and for keeping the sales floor, windows and doors, restrooms, break room, and exterior areas clean and orderly. Duties also include clearing snow, slush, or ice from the entrance, monitoring contracted vendors’ maintenance work, and using the ETS in accordance with company guidelines. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Genuine desire to serve customers by keeping retail stores and their exterior orderly.
Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player.
Moderate interpersonal relations and communication skills.
Ability to use hand and power tools and basic carpentry skills.
Visual and auditory skills.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance inside and outside the store.
Keep the sales floor clean by picking or sweeping up spills and debris.
Keep glass windows and doors free from spots.
Clean and maintain public restrooms on the designated schedule.
Keep the break room clean, neat, and orderly.
Maintain the store’s exterior by removing debris and regularly emptying trash containers.
Clear snow, slush, or ice from in front of the entrance.
Monitor maintenance performed by contracted vendors.
Use the ETS in accordance with company guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
