About The Position

Jared Jewelers is seeking a Maintenance / Porter to help create an environment of total customer satisfaction by making customers’ needs the first priority. The role performs general maintenance inside and outside the store and helps keep the sales floor, windows and doors, restrooms, break room, and exterior areas clean and orderly. It also includes clearing snow, slush, or ice from the entrance, monitoring maintenance performed by contracted vendors, and using the ETS according to company guidelines. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Genuine desire to serve customers by keeping retail stores and their exterior orderly.
• Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player.
• Moderate interpersonal relations and communication skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and basic carpentry skills.
• Visual and auditory skills.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance inside and outside the store.
• Maintain the appearance of the sales floor by picking up or sweeping spills and debris.
• Keep glass windows and doors free from spots.
• Clean and maintain public restrooms on the designated schedule.
• Keep the break room clean, neat, and orderly.
• Maintain the store’s exterior by sweeping or picking up debris and ensuring trash containers are emptied regularly.
• Clear snow, slush, or ice from in front of the entrance.
• Monitor maintenance performed by contracted vendors.
• Utilize the ETS in accordance with company guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
