About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for expediting the flow of work and materials within the maintenance department, aligning with work orders and the production schedule. Key duties include reviewing and distributing work orders and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, collaborating with department supervisors to track work progress and completion dates, and compiling reports on work status, inventory levels, costs, and maintenance issues. This role involves assessing completeness and accuracy of documents, materials, and processes, determining personnel and material requirements, and revising production schedules as needed due to various interruptions. The planner also coordinates maintenance activities with personnel, vendors, and customers, records maintenance data, requisitions and manages material inventories, and calculates labor, material, and manufacturing costs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 + years in a production or maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
  • Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaboration with management, production, maintenance and logistics.
  • Confer with established personnel, venders, and customers to coordinate maintenance activities, and resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Record maintenance data, including work orders, spare parts used, and missed deadlines.
  • Requisitions and maintains inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet maintenance demands.
  • Calculates figures such as required amounts of labor and materials, manufacturing costs, and wages, using pricing schedules, adding machines, calculators or computers.
  • Distribute maintenance schedules and work orders to departments.
  • Compiles information, such as work order rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
  • All other duties as assigned by management
