The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning daily maintenance duties, analyzing work requests, developing job plans, and managing the work order backlog. This role prioritizes corrective and project work orders, lists necessary materials and tools, and estimates costs. The planner compiles equipment information into job packages for technicians, plans all maintenance work, estimates time and resources, and schedules planned jobs. Additionally, the role plans for impending maintenance needs, runs the Preventative Maintenance program, works with Plant Engineering teams to support equipment reliability and mechanical integrity, and oversees plant preventative and predictive maintenance programs. The planner identifies the scope and analysis of required planning and scheduling, tracks and reports on metrics to improve maintenance performance and plant reliability, and assists with planning/scheduling for major plant turn-arounds, projects, and equipment overhauls. The position also manages and replenishes parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and performing cycle counts. They maintain inventories of maintenance department consumable supplies, monitor and control recyclables, and review parts and service proposals for cost-effective value.
