About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating mechanical and electrical maintenance activities. This includes conducting field investigations, developing detailed scopes of work, and creating schedules with manpower requirements. The role involves soliciting information from vendors and contractors, allocating and requisitioning necessary parts and materials, and assembling "job boxes" with all required items for work orders. A key aspect of the role is ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with QSHE and JTA procedures. The Maintenance Planner will also manage maintenance planning schedules, generate reports on costs and work types, and attend scheduling meetings. SAP data entry, including inputting timelines, maintenance time, and closing work orders, is a significant part of the responsibilities. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, computer literacy with SAP preferred, and a fundamental knowledge of industrial mechanical, process, and electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with SAP preferred.
  • Strong communication skills including reading, comprehension, listening, written and oral communications.
  • Fundamental knowledge of industrial mechanical, process and electrical equipment including piping, materials selection, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and power distribution.
  • Fundamental understanding of operation/maintenance of mineral processing equipment.
  • Good command of both oral and written local language and English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic field investigations for mechanical and electrical maintenance activities.
  • Develop bill of materials, scope of work, special installation instructions, and time schedules with manpower requirements.
  • Solicit information from vendors and contractors for parts, equipment, and prefabrications.
  • Allocate and requisition parts, tools, materials, and equipment, and verify delivery against scheduled installation.
  • Assemble "job boxes" containing all necessary parts, materials, and special tools for mechanical or electrical work orders.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices to achieve a zero (0) lost time injury record.
  • Perform work duties in accordance with QSHE and JTA procedures, ensuring consultant and contractor compliance.
  • Utilize external resources (vendors, engineering consultants, contractors) for information and execution means.
  • Generate maintenance planning schedules and reports detailing cost by plant area, preventive versus corrective work, and other requested reports.
  • Attend scheduling meetings and generate project schedules for medium to large scale maintenance outages.
  • Perform SAP data entry, including inputting timelines, maintenance time, and closing work orders.
  • Generate SAP work orders and planned orders from various information sources.
  • Retrieve completed work orders, input information into SAP, and reconcile parts and materials used.
  • Close work orders in the SAP system after verifying all charges.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and actively seek collaboration for continuous improvement activities.
