About The Position

The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for providing support in all facets of maintenance operations, including work planning, implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and setting/adjusting inventory levels based on operational needs. This role requires the ability to safely operate forklifts, which necessitates maintaining a NYS certification. Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings is crucial for success. The Maintenance Planner must communicate effectively with maintenance/engineering and other departments, be cost-conscious, and possess negotiating skills for evaluating necessary supplies and services. This position will coordinate the procurement of replacement parts, tools, and services. Excellent organizational, planning, and detail-oriented skills are necessary to coordinate, document, and track equipment repairs, modifications, and replacements. The role also involves assisting supervision in planning and coordinating shutdown and scheduled downtime work activities. This position will be required to work overtime and holidays as needed. Safety is paramount, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • 4 years’ experience working in sales or purchasing within the mechanical or electrical fields.
  • Experience with AS400, Oracle, & CMMS.
  • Ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicating information so that others will understand.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and/or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory, including basic troubleshooting, installation, repair and/or maintenance of electronic equipment.
  • Proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual work and/or the work of the team.
  • Ability to read prints and apply information to end use and/or awareness of physical surroundings and understanding objects in 3-D space.
  • Responsibility with work habits and ability to hold others accountable for desired results. Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations.
  • Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
