About The Position

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities. This role will maintain the integrity of the ERP solution, including inventory, preventive maintenance (PMs), tasks, and on-demand maintenance work activities. The position requires heavy partnership with the Director of Maintenance and technicians to effectively schedule maintenance activities. Additionally, this role will partner with the inventory department on the purchasing of maintenance parts, equipment, components, and consumables.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance planning.
  • Experience with ERP system, Dymo and Sage preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment and components.
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures and preventive maintenance process.
  • Demonstrate a proficiency and understanding of systems such as safety, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and code compliance as it related to documenting procedures and developing PM’s.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in MS Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and schedules maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
  • Studies production schedules to understand Maintenance needs.
  • Determines and records work assignments according to priority and availability.
  • Compiles and oversees distribution of Maintenance work schedule using Dymo.
  • Reviews work requests/orders for accuracy and clarity.
  • Adjusts schedules to meet needs for unexpected emergency work or increased production demands.
  • Compiles data to understand the job well enough to describe what needs to be accomplished, estimate labor hours, tools, and resources needed to complete different work orders.
  • Acts as a liaison between maintenance and operations.
  • Coordinates downtimes with production to reduce interference with production schedules.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive maintenance plan for the facility.
  • Monitors equipment performance and identifies areas for improvement or optimization.
  • Prepares preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the organization’s maintenance goals.
  • Conducts regular inspections to assess the equipment’s condition and identify potential issues.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to maintenance team members.
  • Compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, or supplies stocked for efficient and effective inventory utilization.
  • Coordinate with Parts Inventory team to ensure maintenance parts are ordered and stocked for planned maintenance activities.
  • Support the AP and Finance department to ensure all detailed service and contract documentation is complete.
  • Support internal/external audit activities.
