About The Position

The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for improving workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, materials, tools, and equipment access. This role supports the maintenance team by developing and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs, scheduling work orders, and ensuring efficient execution of maintenance activities. Supports maintenance technicians and participates in departmental training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably as a planner and/or scheduler.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to negotiate maintenance needs in balance with other departmental priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong computer skills. Ability to learn and use various software packages and MRP programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-high school vocational training is desired.
  • Technical knowledge regarding mechanical and industrial components, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming work notifications, plan work orders, and assign to technician resources. Follow up with work requestor as needed.
  • Develop and maintain weekly and monthly maintenance schedules using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Create detailed work orders including labor estimates, materials, tools, safety procedures, and permits.
  • Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production.
  • Monitor and manage backlog of maintenance work orders.
  • Ensure all required resources are available before scheduling work.
  • Analyze and monitor time delays and determine schedule impact, make adjustments.
  • Develop and maintain PM program. Create new PM plans, edit existing plans, and utilize condition monitoring data inform PM plan implementation.
  • Attend daily department meetings and participate in departmental training.
  • Follow plant rules, procedures and safety regulations including personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
