We are currently seeking a Maintenance Planner to join our Maintenance Planning and Scheduling group in Thompson, Manitoba. The role holder will work across the plants to ensure success through enhanced planning and scheduling processes and provide our employees with the ability to identify and resolve work conflicts before they occur.

Requirements

  • Red Seal in a Heavy-Duty mechanical trade with 3 years field experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Maintenance Supervision, Maintenance Planning, or a closely related discipline in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong analytical abilities.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and excel in fast-paced environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement work plans that prioritize safety and prevent negative impacts on employees, business operations, the environment, community, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish, communicate, and verify work schedules to ensure daily and long-term operational requirements are met.
  • Assemble job packages that are ready for execution and escalate any critical issues that threaten timely completion of work orders.
  • Enhance planning efficiency by creating and utilizing standard job templates.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, production, and services to ensure all work follows established procedures and safe production standards.
  • Utilize and assist in the development of SAP and Work Management systems, escalating issues as needed to maintain quality and schedule adherence.
