About The Position

Skjodt-Barrett is seeking a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for their manufacturing facility. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is the single point of accountability for maintenance planning and scheduling. The position is crucial for supporting equipment reliability, safety, and plant uptime by coordinating work across shifts, managing maintenance activities in MSDynamics365 (CMMS), overseeing contracted services and calibration programs, and ensuring compliance with GMP, food safety, and health and safety standards. This is a full-time, on-site role with a day shift schedule (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm or 9 am - 5 pm), with some flexibility to cover other shifts or weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a trade license.
  • Experience as a maintenance technician or maintenance planner in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a GMP-regulated facility.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms for maintenance planning and documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and D365 or similar systems.
  • Understanding of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Organized, analytical, and proactive with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production needs while maintaining accuracy and structure.
  • Clear, professional, and adaptable communication skills, verbal and written, including the ability to prepare reports and relay quality expectations.
  • Ability to work directly with cross-functional teams and build productive relationships across levels and departments, collaborating effectively in a diverse plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance work, acting as the single point of accountability for maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Receive and prioritize non-emergency corrective work requests and build executable job plans in the CMMS with input from subject matter experts.
  • Prepare, publish, and maintain the Master Maintenance Schedule, ensuring CMMS-generated preventive maintenance is reviewed and assigned at the appropriate intervals.
  • Ensure corrective and preventative work orders are allocated to the correct team members and are executed efficiently, safely, and reliably across multiple shifts, driving consistent plant uptime.
  • Attend maintenance backlog, planning, and scheduling meetings with key stakeholders to ensure alignment, visibility, and prioritization across the plant.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and external service providers to support decisions that improve workflow, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance overall plant performance.
  • Oversee contracted services and calibration programs, ensuring vendors meet all quality, GMP, food safety, and health and safety standards.
  • Maintain calibration records, contractor documentation, hot work permits, and maintenance standards, supporting both regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to reliability engineering practices such as root cause analysis (RCA) and FMEA, helping reduce downtime and address recurring issues.
  • Ensure work orders are completed following review by the Mechanical Lead and support Management of Change (MOC) processes and SOP updates, ensuring improvements are captured and sustained.
  • Prepare and report maintenance KPIs, provide feedback on work order quality and closeout, and collaborate with Maintenance leadership and Data Governance to improve CMMS data integrity, maintenance plans, and standard operating procedures.
  • Act as backup to the Maintenance Parts Coordinator, supporting the sourcing and availability of spare parts and critical materials as required.
