Maintenance Personnel
About The Position
Extra Space Storage is seeking a Maintenance Worker to provide basic building maintenance and trade support at one or more locations within a district. The work may include basic electrical, plumbing, masonry, custodial, carpentry, painting, doors, roofs, and golf carts. The role calls for entry-level maintenance knowledge, reliability, communication skills, and a focus on helping people. The position works during daytime hours; this location closes at 6 p.m. and is closed on Sundays. The worker may travel between multiple stores in the district and works with minimum direct supervision as part of a team. The starting pay range is $18.00–$21.00 per hour. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3–6 months of related experience and/or training.
- Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Entry-level knowledge of basic building maintenance and trade support.
Responsibilities
- Ensure company standards of cleanliness and appearance are met or exceeded in offices, restrooms, exterior areas, company units, and hallways.
- Clean vacated units promptly and check that doors, latches, and alarms are functional.
- Conduct pest control inspections and take appropriate action.
- Handle and store chemicals and cleaners in compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor facility condition and report maintenance needs and potential equipment failures to the Store Manager.
- Perform minor nonstructural carpentry repairs and replacements on doors, fences, and buildings; may also perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
- Perform touch-up painting and landscape maintenance.
- Ensure sufficient supplies are available to perform job duties.
- Demonstrate general knowledge of site management, customer service, and daily operations.
- Perform other assigned duties, work with minimum direct supervision, and operate effectively on a team.
- Maintain a safe environment for employees and customers.
