About The Position

The parts room clerk is responsible for inventory control in the maintenance department. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, computer literacy, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records. The clerk will interact with internal maintenance personnel, plant management, and external vendors, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Well organized with attention to detail.
  • Computer literate with data entry skills.
  • Basic math skills for inventory.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.
  • Must notify supervisor, lead, or manager before leaving the supply room for any reason.
  • The supply room must be managed at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory control in the maintenance department.
  • Issue maintenance parts to personnel and verify items in the inventory system.
  • Perform daily inventory counts on high-use items.
  • Conduct a monthly total cycle count and provide documentation to management.
  • Maintain copies of all generated paperwork.
  • Unload trucks, verify received inventory, and ensure items are in good condition.
  • Note any damages on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing and notify the buyer and vendor.
  • Stock shelves to maintain order and accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the supply room.
  • Manage access to the supply room, ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
  • Log all parts issued from the supply room on the parts sheet.
  • Ensure only the clerk, supervisor, lead, or manager signs out parts.
  • Maintain a minimum of 99% inventory accuracy.
  • Demonstrate positive two-way communication.
  • Ensure fair and consistent administration of company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to management in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all departments' policies and procedures.
  • Report documentation in a proper and timely manner.
