About The Position

The purpose of the Wheeling Maintenance Department is to manage and maintain the physical plant assets in a way that provides optimum current and future functional capability so that the Wheeling Plant can meet all current and future business needs. The storeroom clerk is an independent individual who provides the administrative interface between the physical mechanical work performed and the resources required to perform the work: parts, supplies, manpower, tools, time, and interface with production and contract work.

Requirements

  • Must be able to identify parts and read mechanical drawings
  • Must be self-directed and require minimal supervision
  • Computer literate in current CMMS system; proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet use
  • SAP expertise in maintenance, purchase, and capital components
  • Resource for maintenance budget and budget components
  • Resource for maintenance cost reports and their relation to the budget
  • Ability to use measuring instruments including caliper, ruler, measuring tape, and micrometer
  • Operate service label maker and engraver

Responsibilities

  • Operate the CMMS system (SAP) for purchase, capital, and maintenance activities
  • Monitor, control, and maintain an organized parts storeroom
  • Order and receive plant parts and supplies
  • Drive forklift and shop mobile equipment
  • Create work orders as needed
  • Provide budget and spending information for maintenance parts and consumables
  • Determine and input plant equipment and parts designations in BOM
  • Create part numbers and storeroom locations for MRO parts
  • Manage lube room in partnership with QA, Corporate Environmental, Maintenance, OEM, and Pillar Owners
  • Perform MRO part cycle counts
  • Direct maintenance contractors and service representatives as needed
  • Assist with administrative duties required for the maintenance function
  • Perform other assigned duties
  • Procure and manage stock levels for MRO parts, consumables, and purchase requests
  • Maintain P-card budget and spending
  • Initiate and coordinate with contractors and service vendors
  • Coordinate hazardous waste storage and removal
  • Determine and order consumable supplies
  • Obtain and maintain equipment documents and drawings
  • Manage P-card responsibilities including cost savings, product selection, and price negotiations
  • Review role responsibilities documentation
  • Inspect used oil from labeler oil changes weekly for water or contaminants and dispose appropriately
  • Communicate missed oil changes to daily operations to ensure compliance
  • Create preventive maintenance plans for new and existing equipment
  • Participate in project meetings to ensure PM documentation is delivered prior to equipment installation and entered into SAP before commissioning
  • Review and adjust existing PMs in the system as needed
